Aaaaah!

The expression in the eyes of the Texas Longhorn bull as his butterscotch colored Longhorn cow is meticulously grooming him, really says it all. As with all mammals, there is always a certain amount of grooming that takes place within all species.

No matter how many times I visited this pair, this young bull followed his favorite cow around and almost begged her to groom his face and the huge fold, called the dewlap that runs from the chin down through the front legs.

He seemed to be experiencing ecstasy as she groomed up and down his throat and massive neck. Longhorn bulls do have their favorite cows, but with all bulls, their attentions are on the “next” cow.
