I just loved the interaction between this Texas Longhorn mama and her offspring. I had observed her walking down to the water hole by herself, as her calf stood at the rim of the water hole.
She kept looking at him, stretching her neck out, almost coaxing him to join her. In response, he would put his head down, with his legs slightly splayed in front, giving the impression that he wasn’t necessarily eager to join her in the water.
After much silent dialogue between the two, he finally ambled down the short embankment to join his mama to cool off after a scorching afternoon sun.
She gave him an adoring gaze, swishing her tail in the water, totally relaxed and satisfied that he joined her, as she watched over him.
